Our Services
GPH Safety offers training solutions to suit individual needs. Ranging from accredited IOSH courses through the increasingly important area of Corporate Accountability and Directors' Responsibilities to bespoke courses/workshops designed to mitigate specific risks.
To ensure a participative, enjoyable and motivational experience our tutors take account of differing learning styles and use a variety of training methods or blended learning. The emphasis of delivery will always be on making safety sensible as well as fun. We run the traditional course format but are also happy to run alternative formats. Where appropriate, such as during accident investigation workshops, role play is also used effectively.
Manual Handling
Manual Handling
Over 30% of all accidents in the workplace occur during the manual handling of materials, of these nearly half are injuries involving the back. The most effective way to reduce this percentage is by training people to
understand the risks associated with manual handling, as well as educating them on the principles of safe handling.
Corporate Accountability
Corporate Accountability
'Protecting the health and safety of employees or members of the public who may be affected by your activities is an essential part of risk management and must be led by the board. Failure to include health and safety as a key business risk in board decisions can have catastrophic results. Many high profile safety cases over the years have been rooted in failures in leadership'.
'Leading Health and Safety at Work'
Institute of Directors and Health and safety Commission.
Safety for Managers
Under common law, everyone has a duty of care to one another however employers must also understand any risks inherent in all their activities and protect everybody against foreseeable injury. Management are key to this process and must have sufficient information and skills to discharge their responsibilities.
Managing Safely
Managing safely is for managers and supervisors in any sector, and any organisation. It’s designed to get managers up to speed on the practical actions they need to take to handle health and safety in their teams.
Risk Assessment
Risk assessment is a cornerstone of modern health and safety management, allowing the employer to identify 'foreseeable' risks associated with the work activities. Employees are often the best people to identify hazards and indeed the most appropriate controls, but risk assessment teams must be led by a 'competent person' capable of ensuring the suitability and sufficiency of required assessments. This course is essential training for those with this responsibility.
